  1. In the Configure Enhanced Connectivity Node Host Channels or Configure Extended Channel Solution Host Channels screen, select the action you want to perform:
    ECN configuration is only allowed on Teradata Database release 13.10. ECS configuration is only allowed on Teradata Database release 14.0 or later.
    Option Available Actions
    If no external adapters are detected
    • Create new ECN/ECS Host Channel
    • Done
    If one or more external adapters have been configured on the system
    • Include/Exclude ECN/ECS Host Channels
    • Modify or review settings for existing ECN/ECS Host Channels
    • Create new ECN/ECS Host Channel
    • Add CPs for existing ECN/ECS Adapter
    • Done
  2. To configure a new ECN/ECS Host Channel, select Create New ECN Host Channel or Create New ECS Host Channel and click Next.
  3. Enter the ECN/ECS Host Channel parameters in the Create New ECN Host Channel or Create New ECS Host Channel screen.
    You must supply the parameters for any new ECN/ECS Host Channels.
    Two of the parameters offer a choice list:

    Kind
    • ECN or ECS = non configured ESCON
    • ECNFICON or ESCFICON = FICON
    • ECNEMIF or ECSEMIF = configured ESCON
      The NETWORK value is reserved for future use and is not currently supported.
    Protocol
    • TCP = TCP/IP
    • UDP
    • RAUDP
    • RATCP = Remote Access TCP/IP
      The only supported value at this time is RATCP.
  4. When all parameters are entered, click Next to return to the Configure Channel Adapters screen.
  5. Select Modify or review settings for existing ECN Host Channels or Modify or review settings for existing ECS Host Channels to view each new ECN/ECS Host Channel and confirm that the parameters are correct or to make any necessary changes.
  6. In the Select ECN Host Channels or Select ECS Host Channels screen, select the Host Channels to be reviewed and move them to the Configure column.
  7. Select one or more Host Channels in the Configure column and click Next.
    When you select more than one item in the Configure column, a single item appears for viewing/editing every time you click Next until all items to be modified or viewed are complete. When all changes are done, the Configure Enhanced Connectivity Node Host Channels or Configure Extended Channel Solution Host Channels screen appears again.
  8. Select an option and click Next.
