The Package Install step monitors the installation of packages in the current package group. After all rpms for the group are upgraded, a confirmation screen displays results for the rpms in the current group.
Due to lack of system resources, PUT could not create a new desktop. Therefore, PUT will use this desktop to install software.
Windows appear and disappear. Do not respond to any windows on this desktop while this message is visible, except for PUT messages that appear on the Unexpected Message Encountered screen.
- Click in the text box and press the space bar to enter a space character.
- Click Apply to All Nodes.
- Click Next/Continue and then click Apply to All Nodes.
Package Install Results
After installing the packages, the Overall Package Install Results screen appears.
If there is a failure, it is listed in either the Fail or Ignore columns. For more information on what nodes failed, click the package name in the same row as the failed/ ignored package. Package failures should never be ignored during a Hadoop Software Upgrade. If a failure occurs, do not proceed with the upgrade until the issue has been resolved. If all packages successfully install, this is indicated in the Nodes Successful column. Click the package name to verify the nodes on which the packages were installed, and then continue by clicking Next.
