This step is run only if there are nodes selected that either do not have PUT installed or that have a version of PUT installed that is older than the version on the master node.
The Install PUT step requests the user name and password, and copies the PUT software to the remote nodes.
Note the following about the password and the browser used to install PUT:
- The password must be the same on all nodes.
- The password between the browser and the server needs to be secure.
- The browser should be running on the server node for security.
- Teradata recommends not running the browser with a public network between the browser host and the server host.
Note that the Upgrade Setup screen appears while PUT is being copied and installed on the remote nodes.
