PUT skips this step for Interconnect Firmware Download.
The Discover Storage step searches for available storage and disk arrays in the system. The discovered storage becomes part of the system configuration model. Available storage consists of storage that follows the rules listed for your operating system.
This step requires no user interaction. Some NetApp arrays require jre installed on a node.
- The slice type must be EMPTY (0x00 ) or the special Teradata tag value of 0xda.
- The device must be accessible through an entry in /dev/disk/by-id and must respond to standard SCSI commands and inquiries.
- Slice must not be in use for swap or dump, or have currently mounted file system.
- Slice must not be part of an alternate boot environment or part of a DAP logical volume.
- Slices with a length less than 10MB are excluded.
- Boot partitions are excluded.
- NFS mount points are not excluded.
If PUT cannot find disk arrays in the system and cannot find slices that can be used as Vantage storage, this step aborts with a fatal error. PUT cannot successfully configure a system with no storage.
