Information about the current Teradata configuration can be found in the vconfig.out or devicemap.txt files. These files provide a mapping of every pdisk in the configuration to every node and local raw device. The devicemap.txt file includes the disk array serial number for each storage device used by Teradata when pdisk problems result from storage failures. This file provides the nodes, devices and the serial numbers (DASN) of the disk arrays affected by the problem. In addition, the number of expected slices on any LUN in the configuration can be derived from this file by counting up the number of slices on each LUN.
