Errors encountered during node selection may be version or network- related.
Bad PUT Version
The PUT software must be the same version on all nodes selected for an operation. The Select Nodes step enforces that restriction by checking all versions against the PUT software version running on the master node. If a node is found to have the wrong version of PUT, the node name and incorrect version are listed on the error screen. You must install the correct version of PUT on any nodes identified with this problem before they can be selected for any operations run from the current master node.
Ping Failure
This type of problem can occur when you choose to “reuse” the previously-selected subnet and node. If one or more of the previously selected nodes does not respond to a ping, a network problem exists. The result is that you cannot select any nodes that do not respond to a ping.
- Fix the network problem causing the ping to fail and retry the current step. If all nodes respond to the ping then the operation can continue.
- Go back to Find All Subnets and select the specific subnet you need for the operation. This forces PUT to rescan the subnet and return a list of available nodes.
