Following are key features of the PUT Graphic User Interface (GUI):
  • The default minimum size for the browser is the entire screen. If you change the size during an operation, you must log on to PUT again.

Resize the window by selecting one of the options from the Size list in the upper right corner.

  • In Teradata Support Mode, the most common operations appear as icons on the main screen.

  • In Customer Mode, the most common operations appear as icons on the main screen.

  • The following operations in PUT Teradata Support Mode are restricted to support personnel with a Teradata Quicklook ID:

    • Configure Teradata Vantage (Custom mode only)
    • Disk Wipe
    • Firmware Download
    • Full Disk Encryption
    • Hadoop Software Upgrade
    • Move AMPs/PEs
    • Rename System
    • System Readiness Check
    • Turn on and turn off HSN

To access these restricted operations, you must select Teradata Support Mode (Quicklook ID Required) and enter a valid active Quicklook ID when logging on to PUT.

If you do not enter a valid Quicklook ID, PUT enters Customer Mode.

  • The Help button is located in the lower left of the window and the Exit, Back, and Next buttons are located in the lower right.
  • If you position the cursor over the ball icon in the progress indicator in the upper right corner of the window, a tool tip appears indicating the approximate time the current step in the operation requires. The estimates shown are the longest time it should take for the step to complete. When the operation is in progress, the icon color ranges from blue (fastest) to red (slowest), depending on how long the step is expected to take.

When PUT is working, the icon spins to show progress.
