Aster Database now comes preinstalled with the Teradata 16.20 client libraries on every node. This enables the Teradata Connector to work out of the box without the need to install the Teradata client libraries. These libraries enable connections to the following releases:
- Teradata Database version 13.10, 14.00, 14,10, 15.00, 15.10, 16.00, 16.10 and 16.20
Along with supporting Teradata Database versions 16.10 and 16.20, Aster Database also supports 1MB limit on the size of rows that can be transferred using the load_from_teradata and load_to_teradata functions.
Teradata 16.20 client libraries are incompatible with its previous versions like 15.10 or 14.10 and cannot co-exist on the same node.
Important: During the upgrade process, previous library versions along with the Teradata client profiles related to these previous versions will be uninstalled. The Teradata 16.20 libraries will then be installed, and envirnoment variables will be updated to the Teradata 16.20 version.
