This procedure describes how to set up Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) for remote monitoring and management of the tape library. This procedure is necessary for both Quantum monitoring and future Teradata Server Management monitoring of the i3 tape library.

Log on to the Quantum Scalar Tape Library from the operator panel:
- User name: admin
- Password: password
- Click Log On.

Under , click SNMP and select the following:
- Check SNMP Support
- Enable SNMP Support
- Enable SNMP V3
- Enable SNMP V1/V2
- Community String: public
- Click Apply.
- Click Close.
