In the Server Configuration dialog box, you can specify ARC command-line options, change the port number, user name and password, and adjust the global log setting for the Appliance Backup Utility server.
  1. In the menu, click Task > Configure.
  2. [Optional] In Server Configuration > ARC Command-Line Options, enter any ARCMAIN command-line options that do not override the Appliance Backup Utility's multi-stream capabilities.
  3. [Optional] In Global Log Setting, change the global log level to change the verbose level of the log. The default level is 48. The minimum level is 32.
  4. [Optional] In Enter the new Server Port Number, enter an alternate server port number. You must restart the Appliance Backup Utility for the new port specification to take effect. The last step gives instructions on how to do this.
  5. [Optional] In Select User Name, select Administrator or User from the list to configure the logon setup.
  6. [Optional] In Enter Password, enter a password for the administrator or user.
  7. Click Apply to save changes and keep the dialog box open.
  8. [Optional] Create additional logons for your system.
  9. Click OK to save changes and close the dialog box.
  10. [Optional] If you specified a new server port number, do the following for the new port to take effect:
    1. Close all Appliance Backup Utility GUI windows.
    2. Type /etc/init.d/tdabusrv stop to stop the Appliance Backup Utility server.
    3. Type /etc/init.d/tdabuclient stop to stop the Appliance Backup Utility client.
    4. Type /etc/init.d/tdabusrv start to start the Appliance Backup Utility server.
    5. Type /etc/init.d/tdabuclient start to start the Appliance Backup Utility client.
    6. At the command-line prompt on the Appliance Backup Utility server, verify that the server is running on the new port by typing: netstat -pant|grep <newportnumber> For example, if the new port number is 55555, the display will look similar to the following:
      tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:55555 0.0.0.0:*
      LISTEN 20296/abusrv
      tcp 0 0 39.96.8.6:44419 39.96.8.6:55555
      ESTABLISHED 20375/abuclient
If the new port is not shown, refer to the Troubleshooting chapter.
    7. On the node or workstation where the GUI is installed, type abugui to start the GUI.
    8. Enter the new port number.
    9. Log on to the Appliance Backup Utility server.
