Normally, when a backup or restore job stalls, it indicates a database-related issue such as a lock blocking the job. Also note that restore jobs can take longer to complete than backup jobs.
  1. Run the ShowLocks utility on Teradata Database to see if a lock is blocking the job.
  2. Look at the job in Teradata Viewpoint Lock Viewer portlet to see if the lock is queued.
  3. If a lock is not blocking a restore job, check the job log. If the job log indicates the job as the last item, the build operation that precedes the job is in progress. After the build operation completes, the restore job should complete.
