Disaster recovery can become necessary even when steps are taken to protect Teradata Database and applications from data corruption. For example, the Teradata node that contains the ABU Server Job Information Repository (JIR) might become corrupted before its scheduled backup. This can happen after several Teradata Database backups have been completed since the last backup of the ABU JIR.
