A backup or restore job fails with an "Invalid mount point" message when the directory in the destination path is not found in current mounted file systems.

When the directory is not found, one or more streams in the job remain in the connecting state for five minutes. Then the job fails.

In the ABU GUI, stream information displayed in the Job Log tab includes instructions on viewing the associated .out file in the ABU client /home/abuservice directory. The last line of the out file displays:

### FATAL: Invalid mount point /var/abu_storage/< expected mount point >

Frequently, the mount point is not mounted is because the remote endpoint is unavailable to the node.
