Server Management Network for System with Maximum 36 Nodes, No BYNET Cabinets

  • This configuration is built on the cabinet and collective topology defined in Collectives.
  • This configuration illustrates topology for two to five cabinets. Configurations using a 36-port BYNET V5 InfiniBand switch can scale up to five cabinets.
  • Each processing/storage cabinet shown above represents a collective. The collective may include Platform Framework Cabinets (not shown).
  • The path for the primary network runs:

    The primary Ethernet switch in Cabinet 1 Cabinets 2, 3, and 4

  • The path for the secondary network runs:

  • Separate primary and secondary paths ensure network redundancy.
  • If the system is included in a UDA environment, ports are reserved on the primary and secondary server management switches for UDA connections to the other system or systems in the UDA environment.
