Before you restore all data from the latest backup job, you must reinitialize the system and delete the DBC database.
  1. Run sysinit to reinitialize the system. .

    For more information, see Utilities, B035-1102.

  2. If necessary, reconfigure the system to the desired configuration.
  3. Run the DBC Initialization Procedure (DIP) to initialize system views, macros, users, and error message tables. For more information, see see Utilities, B035-1102.
During the process of restoring the latest backup job, the DBC database is deleted and restored.
  1. From the menu, click Task > Restore Latest to restore the latest backup job.
  2. In the Restore Latest dialog box, click Generate in step 1.
  3. [Optional] Check the Skip Step box if you will not complete the remaining two steps listed in the Restore Latest dialog box at the current time. Checking the box will remind you that the first step has been completed.
  4. Validate that the DBC database has been restored by checking job status in the Appliance Backup Utility GUI.
  5. On a TPA node, run the post_dbc_restore script. PUTTools installs the script at /opt/teradata/PUTTools/td16.xx.xx.xx/IUMB_script
  6. Validate that the restore script has completed successfully. A message indicates when the script has completed.
  7. In the Restore Latest dialog box, click Done.
  8. Click Generate in step 3.
  9. After the data and journal tables are restored, run the post_data_restore script on the TPA node at /opt/teradata/PUTTools/td16.xx.xx.xx/IUMB_script. The restore process is completed.
  10. Click Close.
