You can install and run the Appliance Backup Utility GUI on any node that is connected to the Appliance Backup Utility server. If you are installing on a Linux PC workstation, JRE 1.8 software or later version is required.
  1. On the Appliance Backup Utility server node, copy the abu_gui-16.20.00.00-1.x86_64.rpm package at /opt/teradata/abu_service/service/bin.
  2. Copy the GUI rpm package to any directory on the node where you want to install the GUI.
  3. At the command line, type one of the following commands to install the GUI rpm package:
    Operating System Command
    RedHat Linux rpm - i --nodeps abu_gui-16.20.00.00-1.x86_64.rpm
    SUSE Linux rpm - i abu_gui-16.20.00.00-1.x86_64.rpm
    A folder is created in /opt/teradata/abu_service/gui/bin.
  4. On the node where you copied the GUI, change the directory to /opt/teradata/abu_service/gui/bin.
  5. Type one of the following commands to start the GUI:
    Operating System Command
    RedHat Linux ./abu_gui.jar
    SUSE Linux abugui
