To improve performance when archiving, Teradata ARC optimizes local sessions when assigning AMPs. This optimization requires:
- Teradata ARC 13.00.00 or later
- Teradata Database 13.00.00 or later
- That the Teradata ARC user has privileges to log on to a MONITOR session as described in Application Programming Reference (B035-1090).
The optimization works best if Teradata ARC sessions are connected to as many nodes as possible. This increases the likelihood of having a local session available on each node for each AMP. To accomplish this requires the correct configuration of node Communications Processor (COP) names and addresses. Refer to information on establishing a session in Teradata Call-Level Interface Version 2 Reference for Workstation-Attached Systems (B035-2418).
