Teradata ARC writes and reads sequential files on a Teradata client system to archive, restore, and recover, as well as to copy, Teradata Database object data.

For a detailed list of objects supported by Teradata ARC, see Database Objects.

Teradata ARC allows you to specify all objects as individual objects in an Archive, Restore, or Copy statement. Some objects require Teradata Database 13.00 or higher. For a list of object support by Teradata Database version, see Database Objects.

Starting with TTU 15.10.00.00, the use of Permanent Journal tables is deprecated by the Teradata Archive/Recovery Utility. This includes all statements and options that are related to Journal tables that are mentioned in this Manual.

Starting with TTU 16.10.00.00, ARC will provide limited support for the "Multiple Hash Maps (MAPS)" feature. ARCmain will only Archive/Restore/Copy objects from the Contiguous Hashmap (All-AMPs Contiguous MAP).
