You can recover Teradata Aster Analytics on AWS data in the AWS public cloud using EBS Snapshots.

Restore is logically the reverse operation of backup in any system. However, AWS does not provide any mechanism to restore data from a snapshot back to the original volume. The only way to restore data from a snapshot is to create a new volume, unmount the currently mounted volume, and mount the new volume to replace the current one.

An advantage of this approach is that the size of the new volume can be larger than the original volume, and therefore can be used to expand the capacity of a node or instance.

The process to create a volume from a snapshot is described in the Restoring an Amazon EBS Volume from a Snapshot section in the Amazon User Guide for Linux Instances.
