For the example benchmarks that follow, the server configuration is:

Commodity hardware:

• physical servers: Dell C2100, Dell 720 XD
• 1 queen, 2 workers, 1 loader

The client configuration is:

• physical server

Benchmark terminology:

• Materialization cost—Time taken to get the first result set. This is also the time the it takes for you to get control back, when the initial results are fetched.
• Total fetch cost—Time taken to get the entire query result. Time taken to get the complete result set. This is equal to time taken (MC) * number of fetches.
