  • Supported Direct Upgrades
    • Clusters that Run on Your Own Hardware: SLES

You can upgrade directly to a recommended version of the 6.20.xx release of the Aster Database if your cluster runs a supported version of an earlier 6.20.xx release of the Aster Database or if your cluster runs a supported version of a 6.10 release of the Aster Database on the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP2 or SP3 operating system and you have successfully redistributed preexisting data on the cluster. Work with your Account Team to order the recommended base version of the Aster software.

    • Clusters that Run on Your Own Hardware: Red Hat

You can upgrade directly to a recommended version of the 6.20.xx release of the Aster Database if your cluster runs a supported version of an earlier 6.20.xx release of the Aster Database or if your cluster runs a supported version of the 6.10 release of the Aster Database on the RHEL 6.5 or RHEL 6.6 operating system and you have successfully redistributed preexisting data on the cluster. Upgrading requires that a supported version of RHEL is already installed on the cluster. Work with your Account Team to order the recommended base version of the Aster software.

  • Supported Indirect Upgrades

If your cluster is running one of the Aster Database versions listed in this section, you must perform an indirect upgrade.

For indirect upgrades, follow the instructions in the documentation for each release when upgrading to that release.

If you want to upgrade from a release that is not listed, contact Teradata Global Technical Support (GTS) for the upgrade path to follow.
