Non-Advanced SQL Engine nodes (channel, ECS, NCS, PE, SAS worker, TMS, TMSS) are allowed in all 9400 cabinet configurations.

1U servers, 2U servers, disk arrays, TMS, and switches can be installed in any 2U (node / DA) location that is indicated in any of the configurations. They must be installed from bottom up in the following order:
  • 2U nodes or arrays
  • 1U nodes
  • TMSs (by feature number, in ascending order)
  • SWS / SAS worker / channel server
  • 1U switches
The 9400 cabinet supports a variety of systems and components, depending on the system configuration. These cabinet builds are labeled to allow for this flexibility with the following chassis descriptions:
1U Node / Switch Any allowable 1U node, including Dell R630, Intel R1208WT, or Intel R1208WF
Any allowed switch, including:
  • Brocade 6510 or 6620 48-port fibre channel switch
  • Dell X1026 26-port 1Gb Ethernet switch
  • Dell X1052 48-port 1Gb Ethernet switch
  • Lenovo G8272 48-port 10Gb Ethernet switch
  • Mellanox SB7800 EDR 36-port InfiniBand switch
  • Mellanox SX6036 36-port InfiniBand switch
2U Node / Disk Array Any allowable 2U node, including Dell R730, Dell R730xd, Dell R740xd, or Intel R2208WT
Any allowed storage hardware, including:
  • DE224C disk array with 5700 controller modules
  • Dot Hill RBOD Atlas/Gallium Controller with Dot Hill EBOD Expansion module
  • Seagate/Dot Hill 4544 (RAID I/O Module) disk array with 4144 (JBOD I/O) expansion module
