If the value provided is not appropriate for the application, perform the following steps before calling DBCHCL for any function:
- Change Options to 'Y'.

Change the value as appropriate:
- 'E' – the value of 'E' indicates that than 30 characters or 60 bytes may be returned.
- 'O' – the value of 'O' indicates that names longer than 30 characters or 60 bytes may not be returned.
