If CLI sends a request to the Teradata Database from a Windows client on 17th March 2002 at 23:41:35.21 and the requested precision is in seconds, then the time stored in Time1 would be '35'. If the precision requested is in milliseconds, then the timestamp stored would be 35021.
Time5 is set when the first response is placed into the CLIv2 response buffer. The time set in Time5 is measured with reference to Time1. Time5 stores the timestamp in seconds, milliseconds, or microseconds depending on the precision specified by the application while initiating the request.
If the first response received in CLI response buffer is 18th Mar 2002 at 01:00:05.32, then the time stored in Time5 will be 4710 (assuming precision specified by the application is in seconds). Time1-status and Time5-status contain a single ASCII character, indicating the status of the corresponding time fields:
- 'V' if the timestamp is valid
- 'O' if the timestamp overflowed
- Space or binary zero if the timestamp is not valid
