If the value provided is not appropriate for the application, perform the following steps before calling DBCHCL for the Connect, Run Startup, or Initiate Request function.
- Change Options to 'Y'.
Change the Keep Response value to:
- Y, if the spool file is to be retained by the database even after the last parcel of the Teradata SQL response has been sent to the client.
- N, if the spool file is to be discarded by the database after the last parcel of the Teradata SQL response has been sent.
- P, if the applications are to use cursor repositioning while fetching the response.
A call to DBCHCL for the Rewind function does not fail if Keep Response is set to 'N' as long as all the parcels in the Teradata SQL response can fit in one response buffer.
Always set keep_resp to 'N' while initiating a connect request.
