Follow these rules to avoid data loss.

Before aborting a DSC repository job, make sure of the following:

  • Make sure you have an exported repository backup job configuration file, which is required to recover your repository.
  • If you abort a DSC repository restore job while the job is in progress, DSC metadata will be corrupted.

DSC triggers a command to restore all repository tables to their initial state, which is an empty table. This results in loss of data unless you follow the disaster recovery procedure to recover the DSC repository.

For more information, see Restoring the Repository (Portlets) and Restoring the Postgres DSC Repository When the Boostrap File Is Available: Command Line / Restoring the DSC Repository with the Command Line.
