CLI users can configure and use the DSC in the public cloud (AWS or Azure) by using the command line.
  1. In the cloud product, run dsu-init from the DSC master node.
    [AWS] See Initializing a DSC Instance, in the Teradata® VantageCloud Enterprise on AWS (DIY) Installation and Administration Guide, B035-2800.
    [Azure] See Initializing a DSC VM, in the Teradata Vantage™ on Azure (DIY) Installation and Administration Guide, B035-2810.
  2. In the cloud product, run barnc-init from each Teradata node.
    [AWS] See Configuring and Initializing ClientHandler on Vantage Nodes, in the Teradata® VantageCloud Enterprise on AWS (DIY) Installation and Administration Guide, B035-2800.
    [Azure] See Configuring and Initializing ClientHandler on Vantage Nodes, in the Teradata Vantage™ on Azure (DIY) Installation and Administration Guide, B035-2810.
  3. If you want to back up to the cloud from an on-premises system, you must install the AXMS3 or AXMAzure packages, see Teradata® DSA - DSU Installation, Configuration, and Upgrade Guide, B035-3153 for the instructions.
  4. Using the BAR CLI on the DSC master node, run the following commands:
    1. config_systems
    2. enable_component
    3. config_aws OR config_azure
  5. Create target groups. See Target Groups.
  6. Set up repository backup. See Backing Up the DSC Repository with the Command Line.
  7. Create and run jobs. See Planning a Job: Command Line.
