    Create the Job

  1. Open the BAR Operations portlet.
  2. From the Saved Jobs view of the BAR Operations portlet, do one of the following:
    Option Description
    Create a new job
    1. Click New Job.
    2. Select Job Type: Restore as incremental and click OK.
Create a job from a backup job save set
    1. Click "" next to an IR-enabled backup job that has completed.

You can select Incremental Restore Supported as a column so you can see which backup jobs are IR enabled.

    2. Select Create Restore as Incremental to create an incremental restore job from the selected save set.
  3. Under New Restore Job enter a unique Job Name.
  4. If the Source Save Set you want to use is not already displayed or you want to change it, click Edit and select the save set to use.
    Option Description
Next incremental restore Automatically selects the save set after the last one that was applied (restored).
Latest version (Full) Standard CBB restore: From the last full backup to the last available save set.
Specify a version (Full) CBB restore: From the last full backup to the specified save set.
If the selected job is retired, the save set version information is not selectable.
  5. Select the Destination System and enter the Credentials associated with it.
The password is applied to all jobs associated with this system and user account.
  6. Select the Target Group.
  7. [Optional] Add a job description.
  8. To change the objects selected, clear the checkboxes and select others in the Objects tab.
  9. [Optional] Select Selection Summary to verify the selected objects..
Size information is not available for DBC only backup jobs. N/A displays as the size value for DBC only backup jobs.
  10. [Optional] To adjust job settings for the job, select the Job Settings tab.

Settings can include specifying whether a job continues or aborts if an access rights violation is encountered on an object.

    • [Advanced SQL Engine 16.20 Update 1 and later] Fallback cannot be disabled. Checkbox is ignored.
    • [Prior versions of Advanced SQL Engine / Teradata Database] Disable fallback is not available unless Run as copy is checked. The icon
appears when the mouse pointer is hovered over the checkbox.
  11. Click Save.
  12. Run the Job

  13. Click "" next to a job.
  14. Select Run.
  15. [Optional] Select Allow objects for write after restore.
Because the primary use case for incremental restore is to keep systems in sync, by default objects are restored in a read-only state. If you check the box and restore objects in a read-write state, you cannot run an incremental restore to the target system until after a full restore is done.
