The Teradata Viewpoint Administrator must assign the Manage Lab Groups permission using Roles Manager for your Viewpoint role.

After a lab group is created, you can change a private lab group to public. You cannot change a public group to private.

Make a lab group private for security or other reasons so the labs in the lab group are only available to a restricted set of Teradata Database users and roles.
  1. From the Lab Groups table in the Monitoring tab, click next to the lab group, and select Edit.
  2. Click the Access Limits tab.
  3. Do one of the following to set privacy limitations:
    • Select Public lab group from the first list, then select Anyone can be added to a lab from the second list, to allow any Teradata Database user or role to have default access or be added via a request.
    • Select Public lab group from the first list, then select Only selected users can be added to a lab from the second list, to restrict which Teradata Database users and roles can be added to labs in this group.
    • Select Public lab group from the first list, then select Selected users cannot be added to a lab from the second list to specify which Teradata Database users and roles cannot be added to labs in this group, and optionally disable configuration of user access using roles.
    • Select Private lab group from the first list to restrict which Teradata Database users and roles can be added to labs in this group. There is no second list available with this selection.

  4. For options that require user and role selection, do the following:
    • Use to move one or more selected Teradata Database users and roles from the Available boxes to the Selected boxes.

If there are more than 500 users, use the User list filter.

    • [Optional] In the User list filter box, type to filter the list of available users.
  5. Click Save.
