Stopping the active daemon, repository, Data Mover REST, ActiveMQ, or all the active agents for any reason automatically initiates a failover. If the active daemon, repository, Data Mover REST, ActiveMQ, or all the active agents need to be stopped, do the following:
  1. Run the dmcluster stopmonitor command from the active daemon or the active monitor server to stop the monitoring service on both monitoring servers.
  2. Run the dmcluster status command to verify the monitoring service has stopped before stopping any of the active components.
Stopping the monitoring service does not stop the sync service. If the sync service needs to be stopped, run the /opt/teradata/datamover/sync/nn.nn/dmSync stop command on the server where the sync service is running, where nn.nn is the major and minor version numbers of Data Mover, for example 16.20.
