Teradata Database release 15.10 can run on the following operating systems:
  • Novell SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 3
  • Novell SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 1
Teradata Database release 15.10.01 can also run on the following operating system:
  • Novell SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 3

Migrations from earlier Teradata Database releases running on MP-RAS, Windows, and Linux platforms to Teradata Database release 15.10 are supported. If upgrading an operating system, you must follow the appropriate Change Control procedures and validate the destination system before migrating any data. Contact Teradata Customer Services for assistance.

Teradata Database supports direct migration between releases when the source Teradata Database release is no more than two major releases earlier than the destination Teradata Database release. Otherwise, an intermediate migration or upgrade is required.

Teradata Database release 15.10 supports direct migrations from releases 13.00.00.00+. Migrations from earlier releases require an intermediate migration or upgrade to a 13.00.00.00+ release before migrating to 15.10.

Teradata Database does not support migrations from a later to an earlier major or minor release.

This document focuses only on direct migration, that is, migration from a Teradata Database release no more than two major releases earlier than the release to which this document applies. If you need to perform an intermediate migration before migrating to this release, additional actions may be necessary to ensure a successful migration. In such scenarios, be sure to review the Teradata Database Node Software Migration Guide for the intermediate release in addition to this document before undertaking a migration.
