A Teradata Database minor release may include a number of new features and enhancements, as well as incorporating changes to previous releases made as a result of Requests for Change (RFCs) and Discrepancy Reports (DRs). For example, moving from Teradata 16.0 to 16.10 is a minor upgrade. A minor upgrade generally does not include the conversion of system tables, user data or custom user features. However, depending on the features and enhancements included in a specific minor release, some minor upgrades can be more complex and require special handling.
Software for a minor release, provided through base packages, is distributed on CD-ROM or DVD, or through the Electronic Software Distribution method. Software patches are downloaded from the Teradata Software Server (TSS).
Minor upgrades are performed only by Teradata Customer Services.
