Teradata Database software follows a standard release numbering convention. When planning an upgrade, it is important to understand the definition of the version numbering.
A Teradata Database version number uses the format of 4 two-digit qualifiers, separated by periods. For example: 16.10.01.03.
The release numbers used as examples here do not reflect actual Teradata Database software versions.
- The first qualifier (16 in the example) identifies a major release number.
- The second qualifier (10 in the example) identifies a minor release number.
- The third qualifier (01 in the example) identifies a maintenance release number.
- The fourth qualifier (03 in the example) identifies a patch or efix number.
