Preparing for an upgrade and the upgrade procedure itself both require that your system is running the latest version of TDput, PUTSRC, and PUTTools. Use the currently-installed version of TDput to upgrade to the most recent version. PUTSRC and PUTTools are then upgraded by the newly-installed version of TDput.
PUT is used during the preparation phase of an upgrade to evaluate your system to ensure it is ready for an upgrade. During the actual upgrade procedure, PUT is used to automate many of the tasks required for the upgrade.
If you do not have PUT installed, or if your system is running an older PUT version, you must install or upgrade to the latest PUT release.
