Each Teradata system node must have a minimum amount of random access memory (RAM). While the Teradata Database can run on a system with the minimum RAM, performance may be compromised. Determining the appropriate amount of RAM for your system requires that you factor in workload, performance requirements, and the cost of memory to make the optimum choice.
Consult the Base System Release Definition for the specific Teradata Database release for the node memory requirements for your system. If you need to increase node memory, consult with your Teradata CSR to arrange for this activity.
