Changes the parameters for the specified database.
You must have the DROP DATABASE privilege on the referenced database.
MODIFY DATABASE cannot be used to modify users. Instead, use MODIFY USER. See MODIFY USER.
When you perform a MODIFY DATABASE request, the system places an exclusive lock on the database that is being modified.
If necessary, the system changes the defined PERM, SPOOL, or TEMPORARY space to the next higher value that is a multiple of the number of AMPs on the system.
You can change one or more options in the same MODIFY request. A changed option applies to all subsequent operations that occur for the database.
If an existing option is not changed by a MODIFY request, that option retains its previously defined value.
If you submit a successful MODIFY DATABASE … DEFAULT JOURNAL TABLE request, the following privileges are granted automatically to the database on the journal table:
