The DBS Control fields are grouped logically based on their use by Teradata Database, as shown in the following table.
Group | Description |
---|---|
General | Miscellaneous settings that affect how Teradata Database operates. |
File System | Settings that affect the Teradata Database file system. |
Performance | Settings that affect Teradata Database performance features. |
Compression | Settings that affect data compression at the data block level. |
Storage | Settings that determine the temperature assigned to data loaded into empty tables. The temperature corresponds to expected frequency of data access, and can be used to determine how data is stored. This group is visible only when temperature-based block-level compression is enabled, or on systems that have licensed Teradata Virtual Storage (VS).
|
Checksum | Special diagnostic settings that are used to ensure the integrity of disk I/O operations on database tables. For information on the checksum group of settings, see Checksum Fields. |
Optimizer Statistics | Settings that are used for statistics recollection. |
