Purpose

Prevents all System Management Facility (SMF) records from being recorded. The recording of specific subtypes of SMF records can also be disabled.

In VOS3, applies to SMS records.

Syntax

where:

ALL
All SMF record types is to be disabled.
SUBn
Certain SMF type is to be disabled
Available subtypes are as follows:
1: Session Termination
2: Security Violation
3: CP Activity
4: TDP Shutdown
5: (deprecated by subtype 6)
6: Structure-protocol termination
7: NP Activity
8: Encapsulation-protocol termination

Usage Notes

When TDP starts, SMF recording is enabled for subtypes 1 through 4, and 7. To enable SMF recording, use the ENABLE SMF command.

The ALL argument is the default for this command. Entering just the DISABLE SMF command with no arguments, disables recording for all SMF record subtypes.

To disable the recording of a specific SMF record subtype, use the SUBn argument, where n is the number of the SMF record type to have its recording disabled.
