In diagnostic situations, messages can be requested whenever a session is logged on or off using the TDP ENABLE SESSION STATUS and ENABLE SESSION DETAIL commands. It is not recommended during normal operations if the rate of session activity is large because of potential adverse impact on system console processing. The TDP DISABLE SESSION STATUS and DISABLE SESSION DETAIL commands reverse the ENABLE commands. When SESSION STATUS is enabled, a TDP0899 message indicates when a session starts, and a TDP0898 message indicates when a session ends. When SESSION DETAIL is enabled, when a session ends, a TDP0846 message indicates the total elapsed time that the session spent within the application and within the database.
