SMF/SMS is a standardized mechanism that provides accounting and performance information. As an option, the TDP subsystem generates an installation-specified SMF/SMS record type. The SMF/SMS record ID is the record number where TDP accounting and performance data is recorded. The record ID is specified in the Host System Interface System Parameter Block (HSISPB). The HSISPB is delivered with a default ID. The SMF/SMS record type can be one of the following subtypes:
SMF Record Subtype | Description |
---|---|
CP shutdown | Statistical information about the processing activity of a CP, recorded at shutdown. |
NP shutdown | Statistical information about the processing activity of an NP, recorded at shutdown. |
Logoff | General information about a session being logged off and details about the session’s use of z/OS client and database resources. |
Logon violations and security violations | Logon violations information provided by the User Logon Exit Interface and security violations information reported by the database. |
TDP shutdown | Statistical information about the processing activity of TDP, recorded at shutdown. |
Structure-protocol termination | Information about the communication protocol for an NP or a CP started with the CCU operand. |
Encapsulation-protocol termination | Information about the encapsulation protocol for an NP. |
All the SMF/SMS record subtypes are described in further detail in the following sections.
