In addition to the SHUTDOWN command, it is also possible to use the CANCEL command to shut down a TDP. For example, to cancel a TDP named TDP1, use the following command:

CANCEL TDP1

The effect of this command is similar to that of the Cancel form of the SHUTDOWN command.

When shutting down a TDP, you can use the CANCEL command to generate a dump. For example, to cancel TDP1 and generate a dump, use the following command:

CANCEL TDP1,DUMP

Using PC IACMODE on z/OS SP release 4.3 or later always produces the following message when TDP is shut down:

IEF352I ADDRESS SPACE UNAVAILABLE

This is a normal result of z/OS requirements when using a system linkage index. It does not indicate an error in either TDP or z/OS.
