Purpose

Enables communication with the Teradata Database by allowing CPs and NPs to be started.

Syntax

Usage Notes

Sessions cannot be established until the RUN command is executed.

Any TDP command can be issued before the RUN command. Those commands that require communication with the Teradata Database (for example, commands related to CPs or NPs) are accepted but do not complete. Once the RUN command is executed, any pending commands related to CPs or NPs will complete and sessions can then be established. This gives an operator the opportunity to enter commands that are not included in the TDPPARM data set before TDP allows sessions to be established.

If the command used to start TDP is executed from the system console, each command in TDPPARM is displayed at the console as it is executed, followed by a processing response. If the RUN command is entered as part of a batch job, messages are routed to the master console route code.
