Teradata Ecosystem Manager provides a holistic view of the Analytical Ecosystem by monitoring and analyzing the relationships of the applications, servers, jobs, tables, and software daemons that comprise it. The centralized interface helps you troubleshoot and determine the impact of any failure in your ecosystem.

Ecosystem Manager helps you do the following:
  • Monitor the health of Teradata, Aster, and Hadoop systems and supporting servers, providing feedback on heartbeat, CPU, memory, disk and other resource utilization
  • Monitor and manage interdependencies between servers, tables, daemons, jobs, and applications in your ecosystem
  • Determine the condition of servers, daemons, daemon groups, jobs, and tables based on defined thresholds
  • Perform automated actions, such as executing scripts or sending emails, in response to alerts and events
  • Manage failover and fallback during planned and unplanned outages
  • Integrate with Teradata Unity and Teradata Data Mover to support data synchronization
  • Create workflows to manage Data Mover jobs, Unity-managed tables, Hadoop jobs, and table validation
  • Monitor workflows within Ecosystem Manager
Ecosystem Manager has the following interfaces:
  • The Ecosystem Configuration portlet lets you define what resources you want to monitor and set up dependencies, alert actions, and event responses
  • The Ecosystem Explorer portlet lets you monitor the components, view health status and data transfers, track resource dependencies, and much more
  • The Workflow Designer portlet lets you construct workflows to automate business processes and allows you to automatically recover from common run-time errors
  • The Reports Viewer portlet lets you create SQL reports for any of the components
  • The Ecosystem Manager API supports more advanced configuration and setup tasks

Ecosystem Manager also includes a Restful Service to provide API access to retrieve the Ecosystem Manager collected metadata and metric details about servers, daemons, tables, jobs, workflows, and applications.
