The following is an example of the Linux taraserver post-installation log. Errors appear on the screen and are logged to this file.
Pre-tasks: Check if upgrade from a release earlier than 14.0. No. Use Normal install Task 1: Ask installer which product to use. User selected NetBackup Task 2: Obtain an obfuscated TARA password from user. Obfuscated password obtained Task 3: Create the TARA Server user. Calling useradd. If 0, new account. If 9, exists...else error useradd: Account `taraserver' already exists. This user already exists. Ensure account isn't expired and is locked Password for `taraserver' is already locked! Home directory '/home/taraserver' already exists taraserver ready for use - Saved the previous defaults file in the taraserver home directory Task 4: Create the defaults file or update existing one Update the existing defaults file - Saved the new defaults file in the taraserver home directory Task 5: Make the /etc/init.d/tdtaraserver script. Updating the path values to the 'taraserver' and 'defaults' files in file 'tdtaraserver_original' to create 'tdtaraserver'. Creating the 'tdtaraserver' file in '/opt/teradata/tara/server/bin'. The 'tdtaraserver' file has been created. Task 6: Update the path values to the 'TARALaunch' file in file 'tdbackex_original' to create 'tdbackex' There is already a 'tdbackex' file in the NetBackup directory. Renaming the existing 'tdbackex' file to 'tdbackex_nbu'. Task 7: Set up the TARA Server so that it can run as a 'service' Copying 'tdtaraserver' to the Service directory. Adding 'tdtaraserver' to the Service list. tdtaraserver 0:off 1:off 2:off 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off Task 8: Change the taraserver ownership and permissions Tasks are completed.
