After a new installation of Teradata TARA, the second step to configuring the TARA server is defining the client systems. Refer to Step 4 - Configuring Tivoli Information for information on the other steps of configuration. If this is not a new installation of Teradata TARA, there is no required order of configuration.

  1. Select the Clients tab of the TARA Server Configuration dialog box.


  2. Do one of the following:
    • Select a client system from the Client System list.

    • Click New to indicate information for a new client system.

    To remove a client system from the configuration, select the client system from the Client System list, then click Remove.

  3. Do one of the following:
    • In Display Name, enter the client name that should appear for this client within the Teradata TARA GUI environment. (It is not necessary for the display name to match the system name.)

    • Click New to change the client system information.

      The Display Name box now displays New Client Machine. Enter a new display name in the box.

  4. Enter the system name of the client node in Client Machine Name.
  5. Enter the maximum streams per job in Max Streams Per Job.

    Each stream is a portion of the entire backup job and consists of an ARCMAIN process sending to or receiving from Tivoli.

  6. Select the Client Groups tab of the TARA Server Configuration dialog box, then go to Step 3 - Configuring the Client Groups.
