On the Linux server where you want the TARA server to run:
- Install the TARA server package with the rpm utility: rpm -ih taraserver-16.10.00.00-1.x86_64.rpm
-
Manually run the post-installation script.
The post-installation script, taraserver_postinstall.sh, is usually located in /opt/teradata/tara/server/bin.
Run the post-installation script by typing one of the following:
- /opt/teradata/tara/server/bin/taraserver_postinstall.sh
-
cd /opt/teradata/tara/server/bin
./teraserver_postinstall.sh
- At the command-line prompt for the name of the Backup Application, type t for Tivoli.
- Enter the user name for the owner of the TARA server service. The default is taraserver, which can be selected by pressing Enter.
-
Enter the user home directory.
The default is /home/taraserver, which can be selected by clicking Enter.
If you have a BAR server that is not supplied by Teradata Corporation and has a small file system where /home resides, you can create the baruser account home directory in a location other than /home.
