When configuring Execution Type = SERVER, the Arrow Flight SQL connector exposes the connected Teradata Database as an Arrow Flight SQL endpoint. Remote clients can connect directly to Teradata using the Arrow Flight protocol to run SQL queries or write data to Teradata.

Supported remote clients include the following:

  • Python libraries and frameworks such as:
    • Pandas
    • Dask
    • NumPy
  • Microsoft Power BI (through ADBC/.NET)
  • Dremio
  • DuckDB
  • Any other Arrow Flight SQL–compliant application or tool

This approach eliminates the need for traditional JDBC or ODBC drivers while providing a standardized, high-performance interface for data access and exchange.
