The Arrow Flight SQL Connector (SERVER Execution Type) uses two data type mappings depending on the direction of data flow:
- Data Write (client writes into Teradata). When a client writes data to Teradata, the connector maps arrow types to JDBC types and inserts the data into Teradata. See Arrow Type to JDBC Mapping.
- Data Query (client reads from Teradata). When a client queries Teradata data, the connector maps Teradata data types to arrow types and streams the results to the client. See Global Type to Arrow Type Mapping.
