The procedure which is used and the Teradata FastLoad response to restarting a paused Teradata FastLoad job depends on the phase that the Teradata FastLoad job was in when it was paused.
- A job that was paused during loading can be restarted, either from the beginning, or from the most recent checkpoint if the BEGIN LOADING command specified the checkpoint option.
- Or, a job that was paused during end loading from wherever it was interrupted can be restarted. This is because the database uses internal checkpointing during this phase.Generally, nothing needs to be done because processing after the END LOADING command is executed on the database does not depend on Teradata FastLoad. However, if restarting the job in the end loading phase is required, see the following procedure.
