Designated users receive user IDs with permissions to access IntelliCloud and its stored data. User types DBC (superuser), SYSDBA (Vantage management), and SECADM (security administration) receive TD2 authentication and default passwords, which should be changed after the first use.
Teradata establishes the following user roles after provisioning an ICOP environment at a customer site:

| Service Owner | Primary approver of changes to a provisioned Teradata environment |
| Security Manager | Approver of new roles or groups; acts as backup to the Access Manager role |
| Access Manager | Approver of account creation and group memberships. |
| Database Administrator | Provides database administration, coordinates scheduling upgrades and outages, and communicates maintenance intervals |
| Customer User | Accesses the Teradata environment; raises, tracks, and manages incidents and change request records |
